The Child Who Thought They Were Broken is finally here :)

This book is for anyone who has spent years feeling too much, fearing abandonment, doubting their worth, or wondering why relationships can feel so intense, fragile, and painful.

It is a gentle guide to understanding Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), complex trauma, relational trauma, emotional pain, shame, abandonment fear, self-harm, inner parts, and the long journey of healing.

More than anything, it is a book for the person who once believed they were broken, when really, so much of what you and I carried began as survival.

From the author:

I wrote this book from both my own lived experience as well as my work as a psychologist and a therapist. I never meant for this book to be a clinical textbook or just another "self-help" guide. My hope is that this book becomes more like a companion to you — something you can sit with slowly, return to when you need the language, and use to understand yourself and what you're going through with more clarity too.

It's also not a book that focuses on any one type of therapeutic approach. More so, it is a series of essays, an amalgamation of the many things, therapeutic understandings, knowledge and practical research that has come to help me in my own journey. And those that have touched many of my clients too.

Inside, you’ll find stories on emotional spirals, fear of being left behind, shame, anger, emptiness, relational pain, inner parts, and the difficult process of learning to feel safe in yourself and your relationships again.

I genuinely want to thank you for supporting this book. Every purchase helps support the wider work I do through Kaya Toast for the Soul and IASH.sg, the mental health social enterprise I run.

Your support helps me continue creating accessible mental health resources, writing, and projects that make therapy, healing, and emotional understanding feel a little less out of reach.

This is for the person who spent years believing they were broken and "too much". May this book offer something different: perhaps understanding, compassion, and hope for your soul too. Book Details
