Worksheet: NAMES practice to find safety in the present.

A way of going in and finding safety in ourselves again.

There are moments when something in us takes over.
A thought loops. A feeling tightens .A part of us becomes loud, urgent, insistent.
And before we know it, we’re no longer with the experience. We’re inside it.
Trying to fix it. Argue with it. Push it away. Or make sense of it as quickly as possible.
But sometimes, what’s needed isn’t more effort.
What's needed is a different kind of attention.
This practice is not about getting rid of what you feel.
It’s about slowing down just enough to notice what is already here…to understand what it might be trying to do…and to relate to it in a way that creates a little more space.
Not space where everything disappears. But space where everything doesn’t have to be so overwhelming.
A space that opens up quietly in yourself - where once noise was but a sence of certainty and trust in ourselves can appear.
To the clients that I've practiced this with in our sessions - this worksheet is for you.
Let's keep going okay?
And remember that each time you practice this, your nervous system is changing too.
Take care,
